I have established a web page for members of an amateur writers group to post their writings.  I want to add a bulletin board function but know extremely little about servers and all of that stuff.  

I do know that the server that hosts my web site is a linux server.

About the software I would download from you.  Where does this get installed?  On the server?  On my machine with code I add to my web site?  Any information you can give me along these lines will be helpful to me and greatly appreciated.
